타이포그래피의 공공성

우리는 타이포그래피로 둘러싸인 세계에서 살고 있지만 타이포그래피와 그것이 만들어낸 환경을 당연시 하고 있어서 타이포그래피의 존재를 의식하지 못 하고 있다. 이런 타이포그래피는 우리 생활하는 환경의 중요한 구성요소인 동시에 공론의 장에서 의미부여된 기호로서 특정한 목적에 맞게 메시지를 전달하는 ‘담론자원’으로도 생성되고 사용되어 왔다. 본고는 환경의 구성요소이며 공론의 장에서 ‘담론자원’의 일종인 타이포그래피를 조형적인 관점을 넘어서 그것의 공공성에 대해서 고찰하는 데에 목적이 있다.

We live in a world surrounded by typography, but we consider the environment created by it as natural, hence we are not quite aware of the existence of typography. Such typography is an important component of our living environment and a symbol of meaning in the public sphere, and has been created and used as a "discourse resource" that delivers messages for specific purposes. The purpose of this paper is to examine typography, a component of the environment and a type of "discourse resource", in the public sphere, going beyond the shape point of view.
