Historical Consideration of the Origin of Tour Stamp Design in Korea

이 글은 스탬프의 디자인사를 통해 한국 사회와 문화에 내재된 식민지 근대의 문제점을 비평한다. 이를 위해 필자는 스탬프의 역사와 특성을 역사적 맥락에서 짚어 보았으며, 모더니티 속에서 스탬프가 문화를 재생산하는 과정을 살펴보았다. 또한, 오늘날 스탬프 투어에서 생산되는 관광 이미지를 살펴봄으로써 현시점까지 존속하고 있는 상징을 문화적 맥락 안에서 논하고자 하였다.

This paper pinpoints problems of colonial era which are internalized in Korean society and culture by looking at the design history of tour stamps. To that end, the history and characteristics of tour stamp was reviewed based on the historical context and process of cultural reproduction by stamps within modernity was analyzed. Moreover, this paper examines the images of  contemporary tour stamps in order to discuss remaining influence of tour stamps to this day within cultural context.
